Dr. Angie Klyce, Principal

I’ve been in education for over 20 years, and my heart is still all in! I believe every child has greatness inside them, and it’s my joy to support our students, staff, and families each day. I lead with love, cheer loud for every success, and believe school should feel like a second home. I’m looking forward to another great year with all of my Bon Air families!

Where did you grow up? I was born in South Korea and grew up in Richmond, Virginia, where I attended Hopkins Elementary School.

Where did you go to college? I attended Virginia Commonwealth University for my BS in Psychology and History, my Master in Teaching, my Post Master’s Certificate in Educational Leadership, my ESL Endorsement, and my Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. I also attended the University of Virginia for my Gifted Education Endorsement!

What did you do before coming to Bon Air? I was a 2nd and 4th-grade teacher, then an Assistant Principal in Henrico, VA, before serving as an Assistant Principal at A.M. Davis ES.

What is your favorite part about school? I love watching children discover their potential and grow with confidence. There’s nothing better than being part of a school family where learning, laughter, and love fill the halls every day!

What do you do for fun? Soaking up the sun at the beach, making memories with my family, or happily “exercising” my wallet during a good shopping trip are all ways I love to spend time outside of school.

What is a fun fact about you? Ask me about my favorite K-Pop Boy Band!

With a background in special education, I'm passionate about creating a school where every child feels seen, valued, and truly at home.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Hampton, Virginia!

Where did you go to college? I attended James Madison University for my Bachelor’s of Science with a concentration in Special Education, and the University of Virginia for my Master’s of Education in Administration and Supervision.

What do you do for fun? When I’m not at school, you can probably find me on a volleyball court, exploring the outdoors, beaching, or fishing with my family. I am also a big fan of DIY projects, crafting, home decorating, and watching baseball (Go Cubs, Go!).

What is a fun fact about you? Ask me about the 12 ft. long fish Mr. Jonas caught on our honeymoon, or just tell me a story that makes me laugh!
